Pitso Mosimane has named several new faces in his first Bafana Bafana squad, which is set to play two qualifiers and a friendly international later this month and in early October.
The squad features a blend of experienced campaigners and promising young talent from both the domestic league and clubs abroad. Unlike former coach Hugo Broos, Mosimane has included a number of fresh faces, among them Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe and Brooklyn Poggenpoel of Durban City, both of whom were omitted from the final FIFA World Cup qualifying squad in June.
Other newcomers include Lebone Seema, Puso Dithejane, Luther Singh, Shandre Campbell, and Tashreeq Matthews. Meanwhile, Fawaz Basadien, Cassius Mailula and Yanela Mbuthuma have earned recalls to the national team.
Bafana Bafana are set to take on Guinea on Saturday, 26 September, at Orlando Amstel Arena before facing Eritrea on Wednesday, 30 September. They will then conclude the international window with a friendly match against Egypt on 4 October.
