Mike and Mathew de Kock provided comments for their six runners engaged at respective race meetings this weekend.
The Lucky Fish Ambassadors start with two contenders at Hollywoodbets Greyville this evening, followed by two at Turffontein on Saturday and another pair at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.
“Drumnadrochit is very well after a rest and she’s drawn well, but poorly handicapped. She received 14 pounds for running seventh in the Fillies Classic and then ran unplaced again without a drop. Because of her high rating we can’t have confidence at the weights, though as an individual she looks exceptionally well.”
“Next Of Kin is not quite at his peak. He should run a decent race, include him, but he is not yet where we want him to be, fitness-wise.”
“We fancied Meghan’s Diamond last time and she disappointed. She is a limited filly, but we’re bringing her back to 1000m and that should be better for her. She could bounce back, has an eachway chance.”
“We are very happy with Trombolines, who is putting up good work at home and has a soft gate. He should be competitive in a competitive race, has a money chance.”
“Scott’s Bar is doing much better since being gelded. He comes from the strong Coast Of The Sun formline. He needs further, but he’s coming out nice and fresh for this run and should be a factor.”
“Captain West has similar formlines to Justin Snaith’s entry, Powerandtheglory, who is the horse to beat. This is Captain West’s third run after a rest. He is well and is a big runner.”
