Lucky Fish ambassadors Mike and Mathew de Kock sent out four runners this weekend, and all have a shout at best.
Go Johnny Go is first up in Race 2 over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville today. He has been rested since January and is better for it, but he is a troublesome colt who cannot be followed with confidence. Mike commented: “He is capable, but very temperamental and that makes things tricky. It’s hard to predict what he will do in this race.”
The grey Next Of Kin has been battling to win his second race, but he receives a 4kg allowance from an in-form and confident apprentice in Race 3 over 1600m and Mike is hoping this will do the trick. “He should be included in all bets.”
Scot’s Wae Hae comes up next in Race 7 over 1200m which looks like an open contest. “I still believe his rating of 89 is too high. He is coltish and is heading for gelding. He has a tricky gate, we’ll have to see how he goes.”
I’m A Fireball makes his comeback after a short break in Race 6 over 1450m at Turffontein. He set a course record when raced over this distance at the Vaal in January, and one has to believe the inside track at Turffontein will suit him well. “It’s a tough race, but he is fit, in a good place and well drawn. He has a good money chance,” said Mike.
