Mathew de Kock commented on De Kock Racing’s five runners on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville today: “All five will be having their first runs on the Polytrack, so we’re mindful of the fact that they’ll need to adapt to the surface. If they handle it well, we expect them to acquit themselves with credit. It should make for an interesting day’s racing.”

Race 1 - 1200m: Meghan's Diamond

“Meghan’s Diamond was a winner barring one horse in her last start. If she repeats that from her inside draw, she’ll be hard to beat. She has lifted her game with the blinkers on. Mega Awesome tries a sprint which he hasn’t done before. He has a terrible draw, but we’ve always thought that he is better than his form, so it wouldn’t shock us if he runs a big race. But he has to go out there and prove it first before we can give anyone confidence.”

Race 2 - 1400m: Penny's Choice and Shabeen Queen

“Penny’s Choice arrived at Summerveld yesterday and she travelled well from Joburg. She has an inside gate to put her in a good spot and has a big eachway chance. The Maiden handicap will suit Shabeen Queen, who should be more competitive and has a place chance. Hopefully, staying on in Durban, she can crack her Maiden in her next few starts.”

Race 5 - 1400m: Angel's Oasis

“We’ve changed equipment on Angel’s Oasis because she was quite unruly last time. She seems to be more co-operative now, so we’re expecting her to make her presence felt.”
