Mike & Mathew de Kock Runner Comments: 11 February 2026

Before what promises to be a busy weekend of horse racing action, Mike and Mathew de Kock are sending out two runners at Turffontein on Thursday. Here are the team's comments on the stable's individual runners along with some interesting notes for punters.

Turffontein - Thursday, 11 February

Turffontein plays host to an eight-race meeting on Thursday. The de Kock stable has two runners on the day: BRISTOL HERCULES in thrid and BUDDY BOY in the fourth.

Race 3 - 1 450m: BRISTOL HERCULES

BRISTOL HERCULES as well fancied over 1700m at the Vaal last time, but over-raced and was outpaced by Taegan’s Champ. He’s in Race 3 over 1450m at Turffontein, Thursday, facing perhaps slightly weaker opposition in a Graduation Plate. Mathew de Kock said: “He’s doing very well at home, quite versatile and this 1450m should suit him. A bit of a wide draw but he should run well, warrants consideration.”

Race 4 - 1 800m: BUDDY BOY

BUDDY BOY goes to post in Race 4 over 1800m. He is coming to hand after being gelded, and will have blinkers fitted. “Hopefully the bit of extra ground and the blinkers can do the trick and he can produce a winning performance,” said Mat.
